Vision Board Projects for 2024: Easy and Free!

Categories of school, hobbies, health, and friends with matching images and 2024 in the middle

Here is a fun project to do with your students this January! My kids really loved putting these together and thinking about their goals for the year really sparked some great discussions.

Vision boards can be put together for free using Google Sheets, PowerPoint, or a similar program. Just prompt your students to write the year in the middle and choose four categories they want to focus on this year (ideas below!). They can then search for images online to match their goals.

The creation of a sample vision board for kids

Make a vision board of your own to show as an example! Your students will love to see what you are working on this year.

Here are some ideas for categories and related goals:

  • Get to class on time

  • Start taking notes during class

  • Study for exams for 20 minutes each night

  • Ask someone for help when stuck

  • Go to the tutoring center once a week

  • Check for missing assignments every Friday

  • Keep desk organized

Home

  • Clean out closet

  • Start a garden

  • Rearrange furniture in bedroom

  • Learn how to cook mac & cheese

  • Teach dog to shake hands

Hobbies

  • Learn to knit

  • Try skiing

  • Read 20 minutes per day

  • Start a lemonade stand this summer

  • Solve a Rubik’s cube

  • Learn how to do a cartwheel

Health

  • Try a new vegetable

  • Get to sleep on time

  • Try a new sport

  • Learn to make fruit smoothies

Friends

  • Get a pen pal

  • Check in with friends every week

  • Invite friends to hang out after school

  • Go to summer camp

No matter what your students’ goals are (or your goals are!), creating a vision board is a fun way to think about the upcoming year. This is a great activity for January or the beginning of the school year. Kids love making their boards, seeing what other people put on theirs, and discussing things they want to do this year!
